Welcome to McGinnis School of Driving

McGinnis School of Driving has been serving the needs of New Mexico since opening our original location at 2745 San Mateo NE in 1964. David McGinnis, the son of the original owner opened the location at 1523 Eubank NE in 1976 and in 2003 opened his 3rd location at 12500 Montgomery NE to better serve our growing community. Following the death of Thomas J. McGinnis in 2009, these 3 schools are now the only driving schools still solely owned and taught by the original founding McGinnis Family and have always been the oldest, single family owned driving schools in the country.

David W. McGinnis, MDEI, LMDIE, (Master Driver Education Instructor, Licensed Master Driving Instructors Educator), owner and President of Driving Success, Inc. DBA McGinnis School of Driving has been working and teaching in his family's business for over 36 years. He has conducted continuing education courses for all 50 of our States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. His son, D. Ryan McGinnis, began teaching behind the wheel and in the classroom in 2007 and plans to continue the McGinnis traditions started by his grandfather.

Any student who has attended Mr. McGinnis' lectures or met him personally all agree: He is an outstanding individual both personally and professionally. His lectures and public speaking abilities are unsurpassed. "Ask anyone...They'll tell you!"

McGinnis School of Driving continues to be the standard by which other driving schools are measured. History speaks volumes. Other driving schools have come and gone and will continue to come and go. McGinnis School of Driving proudly boasts that we are, "The Oldest, Largest and Finest!" The combination of the McGinnis' and our instructors bring you over 100 years of experience in driver's education and service to the community. Many of our instructors have been with us for more than 20 years and all of our instructors are also teachers and coaches at area public and private schools.

McGinnis School of Driving takes the anxiety out of drivers education. All of our teachers are Certified Drivers Education instructors. We meet and excede the state-required curriculum in both the classroom and driving phases.

McGinnis School of Driving administers the following New Mexico State tests:

• NM State written test for the Learner's Permit
• NM State eye exam for the Learner's Permit
• The NM Learner's Permits are issued at all of our locations
• The State of NM Provisional License written test
• The State of NM driving test

ALL SCHEDULING FUNCTIONS ARE HANDLED OVER THE PHONE MONDAY-FRIDAY DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.
